Episode 2 - Mindsets and Habits to Create a Life You Love with Hina Khan
In this episode, I interview Peak Performance Coach and my personal coach, Hina Khan.
We discuss her tips for success, powerful habits and how to be the most important person in your life. Our work together has helped me leave “hard, busy, and hustle” behind and design a life and business that I love every day.
Hina shares the impact a strong morning routine has had on her success. She regularly brings her clients along on her morning routine, helping them take control of their mornings, rather than starting their days off in a reactive way by checking your phone right away as so many people do. It sets the tone for the day. Centering yourself first helps you look at the emails or messages you check later through a filter of how your response will align to your goals. It allows you to respond, not react.
We also discuss how to build confidence with making decisions. It is better to make a bad decision in a short amount of time than to sit in indecision. Even if you make a “bad” decision, it will help you learn something and avoid the exhaustion of weighing options at length.
This helps you to “collapse time,” as Hina says. To be successful, people have to get away from the idea of “better safe than sorry” or “do your research” and make decisions quickly, even if they don’t turn out to be the “best” decision.
Next we touch on self Image, mental chatter, and inner conversations. Hina shares why you cannot outperform your self image because it is a match to your current results. You can control things like your word choice, your mindset, and your inner environment to create that change from within. Understanding this helps to focus on what you can change and stop attributing your success (and your failures) to outside factors.
